Based on reviews, this book will make you laugh out loud. In my case, not a smirk on my face. Perhaps because I don’t get American humor and I don’t have a clue about Tina Fey. I’ve seen her photos on the internet, but I’m not interested enough to know who or what she does.
So why bother buying and reading this? I was swayed by the reviews and recommendations on my Goodreads account, so I thought, I’ll give it a try.
This is one of the books that I have finished in a very short time, which I’m glad I did because I find the whole book boring. Again, not because I think the writer is not good, but because I just don’t get the humor.
However, being an AB Communication graduate, I somehow understand her life as a producer. I may not be able to work on a TV show or a movie, I somehow understand the pressure of creating scripts and sketches. And this book also gave me an idea of how stressful production houses can be.
So despite my ignorance on American humor, I would still recommend this to students of film or writing as well as women employees who don’t have an idea how to juggle things between life and family. And I hope you get something out of it.
